Niels Peter Lemche har i to bøger fra efteråret 2008 beskrevet hvordan den såkaldte Københavnerskole fører forskningen videre efter den historisk-kritiske metode. Artiklen præsenterer først Lemches opgør med den gamle metode, hans nye teologi og de nye tilgange. Anden del er en kritisk vurdering af teorien om en konstrueret helhed fra omkring Kristi fødsel: tekster kan sprogligt henvise til virkeligheden; Lemches korthus-logik er ulogisk og gennemføres ikke konsekvent; dog udfordrer Lemche en moderne kommunikativ tilgang i en metodepluralistisk dialog.

Abstract

Niels Peter Lemche’s The Old Testament Between Theology and History (2008) summarizes the so-called Copenhagen school. This paper surveys his critique of the Historical-Critical Method, his theology and his postmodern hermeneutics. Three points are emphasized in a critical evaluation of the view that the Old Testament was construed de novo in the two centuries before the birth of Christ: texts can refer to linguistic reality; it is illogical to reject anything beyond positivistic proof, nor is this done consistently; nevertheless Lemche challenges a theology of communication to dialogue in a context of pluralistic methods.
